Schloss Solitude – wedding photographer & videographer

Schloss Solitude is one of the finest places to marry in the region: the white rococo façade, the long sightline towards Ludwigsburg and a terrace that lies in warm backlight in the evening. For photography that means one thing above all – large, calm pictures happen here if you hit the right moment.

Because the palace is open to the public during the day, we deliberately put the couple shoot into the edges of the day. Between 18:00 and 19:30 it gets noticeably quieter, and at the same time the sun stands low over the sightline. We set aside about 40 minutes for it and are back in good time before the reception starts.

For the ceremony itself we work without flash and with fast prime lenses. The windows in the White Hall give enough light for clean, natural pictures – in winter too.

Light & best hours

Best time for portraits: 60–90 minutes before sunset on the south terrace. Hard light at midday – better to use the arcades then.

• Photo permit for commercial shoots through the palace administration
• No flash and no tripods indoors during the ceremony
• Drone footage not permitted – we work with gimbal and slider
