From Krumbach, Stuttgart is the longest drive westwards, and for many German-Turkish families in our area it is the city where the relatives live. That is exactly why we drive it: when one half of the family comes from Swabia and the other from the Stuttgart area, the celebration is often there, and the photographer comes along.
The city sits in a basin, and photographically that is its greatest advantage. Within ten minutes you are out of the centre and in the vineyards, looking out over the roofs – a combination no other city in our area offers like this. Down at Schlossplatz it is metropolitan and harsh in light around midday; up top it is quiet, and the sun goes down over the vines. Anyone who wants both should plan two hours for it, not forty minutes.

You are based in Swabia – why Stuttgart?
Because families rarely live in one place. We drive the route regularly for couples whose relatives live in the Stuttgart area, and we know the city well enough not to be looking for a spot on the wedding day.
Does an overnight stay come on top?
If the celebration runs into the night, yes – after twelve hours of work we do not drive another hour and a half in the dark. That is in the quote beforehand, not on the invoice afterwards.
